How can I install snow chains on my car? |
|
 |
A snow plower from the mountains of Nevada read 2torial #0696: Install and Remove Snowchains, and had the following comments: "Your method will work, but it is much easier to get the chain situated with the closing device on the correct side and then drape the chain over the wheel, sort of like the cowboys put a blanket on a horse. Drive the car forward or backwards about 18 inches, not so much as to have the chain slide back off the tire. Then close the inside and then the outside. It is much easier to drape the chain straight in than to pull it up over the tire sideways. This way you don't have to align the chains on the ground, especially in the snow and rain in the dark. Quite often this system will work even if you are stuck."
