DWT: 360 lawyers and counting From its founding in 1924, Davis Wright Tremaine has spread its presence throughout the Pacific Northwest, and established branches from Washington, DC to Shanghai, China. The firm's more than 360-lawyers operate in over 40 practice areas. Like other Seattle-based firms, DWT has experienced substantial growth in IP work. Benjamin G. Wolff, a partner in the firm's Portland, Oregon office, told Portland's Business Journal that the firm "could add 10 lawyers, and still would be turning clients away." Amendment numero uno On a related note, the firm's representation of media companies has grabbed considerable attention. A notable partner here is Karen Frederiksen, based in the firm's Los Angeles office. Frederiksen was tapped by the Los Angeles Times and others in connection with the release of grand jury transcripts detailing Merrill Lynch's role in the Orange County investment scandal. Partner Kelli Sager, also based in L.A., has been recognized for her First Amendment work.
