The largest law firm in Missouri Founded in St. Louis in 1873, Bryan Cave has grown to become Missouri's largest law firm, and resides comfortably among the nation's most profitable. The firm boasts sixteen offices, seven of which internationally-based. Bryan Cave's more than 550 lawyers subdivide into nearly 30 "client service groups" through which, according to firm literature, "Bryan Cave offers legal counsel and advice in virtually every area of interest to business and entrepreneurial clients." Recent matters of note include representing the acquiring party in the MCI WorldCom merger, and presenting Kuwaiti Government claims related to the Iraqi invasion before the United Nations Compensation Commission in Geneva. A litigation of its own Bryan Cave hasn't escaped scandal. In November 1999, an ex-associate filed suit against the firm, alleging "sexual harassment, sexual discrimination, and retaliation." In her complaint, the plaintiff claimed that she was given a low pay raise because of a bad review from an alleged harasser. Counsel for the firm denied the allegations, telling the National Law Journal: "We have a pay dispute which she is trying to escalate into a claim of some kind of sexual harassment."
